Tammy Brooks Honored with Mandana Bliss Award for Staff Excellence

The Stevens Point Area Public School District is delighted to announce that Tammy Brooks has been honored with the February Mandana Bliss Award. This monthly recognition celebrates staff members whose outstanding commitment defines educational excellence in our district.

Tammy was celebrated for her essential role in shaping a culture of support and care within her school. Her personal commitment ensures that every student feels connected and supported, both in their academic journey and in their emotional well-being.

Joan Green, a 6th-grade student at Madison, highlighted how Mrs. Brooks provides a steady hand during stressful moments.

"She told me things such as how good I did and how proud she was of me," Joan noted. "In addition, when I was nervous about something such as a test, she told me to do the best that I could. She even gave me techniques such as breathing."

The impact of her daily presence was a recurring theme in the nomination. Mrs. Brooks is recognized for her constant spread of joy to those around her. " Joan shared that almost every day, she greets others with kindness and asks how their day is going. “She also makes you feel like that there is someone who cares about you."

The Mandana Bliss Award is named in honor of Mandana Hale Bliss, Stevens Point's first school teacher and trailblazer. The award recognizes staff whose service reflects excellence, compassion, and a commitment to inspiring future generations.

The Stevens Point Area Public School District congratulates Tammy Brooks for her invaluable contributions to Madison Elementary and our entire district.
